Almost March

It's hard to believe that the month of March is just around the corner. March brings Spring Break, Easter, and all things green. Check out my March Making Words Center available on Teachers Pay Teachers. My kiddos love these Making Words centers each month. There is a different themed Making Words Center per week. Click on the photo below to get your own copy on SALE now until Wednesday 2/27/13 for 15%off.

I've been busy learning more and more about blogging, but also making sure to balance teaching and the rest of my life. We all know that balance is the key to happiness and ultimate success. Stay tuned to my blog later this week as I have another post titled "More Blogging Baby Steps." In this post I will link you to a great resource that helped me make my own custom background, custom post dividers, a custom header/blog title, and sidebar gadget titles. See you soon!

Blogging Baby Steps

I've been looking at several blogs for inspiration as I've contemplated starting this blog.

The goal of this blog is to share ideas, inspiration, thoughts, creativity and the joy of teaching.

This week I learned how to set up this blog with the help of the wonderful world wide web.

Today I joined my first Linky Party (after truly researching what that meant) featuring New Teacher Blogs. Thank you Teaching Blog Addict.

Here are a few other blogs that helped me get started on "Blogging Basics," or the Baby Steps as I'd like to call them.
Ladybug's Teacher Files had a great video  tutorial on linking documents right off your blog. It was a wonderful tutorial that allowed me to follow step by step while actually configuring my own settings.
Teaching My Calling helped me figure out how to link this blog to my new Facebook page and connect my new posts to a  timeline feed.
Fabulous Blogging, Microsoft Publisher, and Photobucket helped me create my "Grab My Button" badge so others can grab it for their own blogs.
Thanks to all of the blogs and websites that made this first week possible.  Slowly, but surely, I'm figuring this blogging world out. My dog Bentley has even become my "Blogging Buddy".
I look forward to the upcoming weeks and the adventures in blogging.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! Or as my students continually say, "Happy Valen-Times." No matter how much I explain that it's ValenTINE's, they still continue with "Valen-Times. " Maybe they just have the love of Math and telling time constantly on their minds. So, in honor of "Valen-Times" Day. Enjoy this Telling Time Math Center! Click the Title page for your FREE download.

I created my own Valentine's Cards this year for my class with the help of one of my new favorite photo editing websites. Check out PicMonkey. This year's card featured my favorite furry valentine, my 2 year-old Chocolate Lab, Bentley. He's a sweet boy who often winks at us (I happened to get a photo of it once).

I hope your day was full of love. Remember to tell someone you care for how much you love them or care for them. And remember, make sure to say follow your sentiments with "because...." (it's really powerful).

Happy "Valen-Time's" Everyone. Goodnight!

Hello Blogging World!

Good evening, I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Justyna, The Monogrammed Teacher. Welcome to my blog! I'm a second grade teacher in Florida who loves to put my own personal mark on teaching. I embark on this journey as a new blogger. The past 6 years of teaching have been filled with some journaling and writing, lots of thinking, and a whole lot of talking. This blog is a spot for me to share my love for teaching. I look forward to sharing, learning, and growing as a teacher and blogger. Thanks for stopping by.  Please, stay a while and visit frequently.
